                                         RECRUITMENT OF FOREST SCOUTS

Friends of Karura Forest Community Forest Association under their Forest Management Agreement with the Kenya Forest Service is looking for Forest Scouts for Karura Forest Reserve.

The scout’s primary duty is to assist with securing the forest and ensure safety of the visitors as well as ensuring that the laid down forest rules are followed by visitors. Scouts are responsible for carrying out security checks at the gates, control parking and assist with keeping Karura Forest Clean.

FKF wishes to recruit Forest Scouts from eligible Kenyans. They must possess the following qualifications:

1.     Be over 21 years old and having completed Secondary education with at least a mean grade of a D+ score.

2.     Be physically fit and capable of performing security drills and functions.

3.     Be computer literate and familiar with smart phones.

4.     Able and willing to work from 0600hrs in the morning to 1800hrs in the evening as well as night duties from 1800hrs in the evening to 0600hrs in the morning.

5.     Able to communicate fluently both in written and spoken English and Kiswahili.

Confirmation of offer of employment will depend on being able to produce a valid certificate of good conduct from the relevant Authority.
